Alexander Boyd Displays Hosts Q&A with Oliviero Toscani
The month of June has become synonymous with the annual festival of photography, the Belfast Photo Festival,
Alexander Boyd Displays have been a proud sponsor for a number of years, but 2019 was a little bit special as together we presented the photography community with a unique opportunity to gain an insight into one of the world’s top photographers and creatives, Oliviero Toscani.
The Q&A event took place in the Ulster Museum on Thursday 13th June and was an amazing experience for all involved. The discussion explored how he developed some of the most controversial and inspiring advertising campaigns and provided an insight into his unique outlook on life.
Oliviero Toscani has produced Award winning photography for Vogue, Elle, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Stern, Liberation and is a judge of the hit Sky Arts show, Master of Photography. He has been awarded the Lions d’Or four times, the UNESCO Grand Prix, Grand Prix d’Affinge on two occasions….the list goes on…
He discussed his life’s work and career to date, including how he built the identity, corporate image, communication strategy and online presence of United Colors of Benetton – transforming it into one of the world’s most recognized brands as Creative Director.
In association with Belfast Photo Festival, the event was an amazing insight into one of advertising and photography’s legends.
Photography is the purest form of communication, simulating neither time nor movement, operating in total stillness.
