Celebrating Creative Collaboration with SheSaid
We’re delighted to see our collaborators at SheSaid Design shortlisted for an IDI (Institute of Designers in Ireland) Award for their inspiring project Stargazing Suggestions.
The festival featured six site-specific art installations by local and international artists, each exploring our relationship with nature, light, and the urban environment.
Suggestions for Stargazing, created by artist Aisling O’Beirn, was a graphic trail through Waterworks Park, Belfast, inviting visitors to look up and reconnect with the night sky while reflecting on the effects of light pollution on cities, wildlife, and human health.
At Alexander Boyd Displays, we were proud to support the project by manufacturing and installing signage elements.
Our team supplied:
-
Project panels – produced using reflective and fluorescent vinyl on 10mm black Foamex/Dibond, precision cut to shape for a clean, durable finish.
-
Project vinyls – created using Nucoat vinyl, ensuring vivid, high-quality graphics suitable for the outdoor environment.
We also advised on low-impact installation methods, ensuring the trail could be semi-permanent and environmentally considerate. Initially designed to last only for the festival weekend, the installation was so well received that it remained in place for almost six months.
We’re thrilled to have played a supporting role in this remarkable collaboration, helping to bring SheSaid Design’s creative direction and Aisling O’Beirn’s artistic vision to life.
Our warmest congratulations and best wishes go to SheSaid Design as they await the final results of the IDI Awards – well-deserved recognition for an inspiring piece of design.
